Cape Kidnappers Celebrate Bastille Day

Cape Kidnappers Celebrate Bastille Day image

The Farm at Cape Kidnappers will celebrate Bastille Day with talented French chef Nic Poelaert from popular new restaurant, Brooks of Melbourne and wine raconteur Brett Newell representing  Louis Roederer Champagne and Maison Joseph Drouhin.

Nic Poeleart trained in France under Michelin starred chef Alain Gelle and has worked at the 3-star Michelin Restaurant Bras in the South of France. Now he is getting fantastic reviews in Melbourne at his new Collins Street showplace, Brooks, where the critics are raving about his sublime cooking.

Nic’s fabulous French degustation dinner will be paired with exquisite French wines from Louis Roederer and Maison Joseph Drouhin at a special French dinner on Saturday night July 13.

For generations Louis Roederer have maintained and enriched the Roederer tradition to create some of the most prestigious champagnes in the world. Along with Louis Roederer champagne, Maison Joseph Drouhin will be showcasing their prestigious wine collection.  With attention to detail, passion for excellence and a never-ending search for quality, the Joseph Drouhin wines will not disappoint.  Weekend host Brett Newell has visited both houses and will share his deep knowledge and passion for these fine wines at a pre-dinner champagne tasting and between courses during the dinner.

For guests who choose to make a weekend of it and arrive on Friday night, there will be welcome drinks on the Friday evening, and Chef Nic Poelaert will share his Gallic cooking techniques at a special Saturday morning cooking demonstration.

Saturday afternoon will provide ample time to relax and enjoy the Cape Kidnappers property, partaking in the choice of golf or a 50-minute massage before the main event that evening.

The Saturday evening dinner will begin with a pre-dinner tasting of Louis Roederer wines before settling in for a fabulous dinner, prepared and hosted by the star chef Nic Poeleart.
