Sapporo
Seibei Nakagawa left Japan in 1876, at a time when doing so was strictly forbidden and punishable by death. At just 17 year old, he travelled to Germany to master the art of brewing and brought back to Japan techniques that shouldn't have been known from places that shouldn't have been visited to inspire Japan's finest beer.
It's that rebellious spirit - bubbling under the surface of the Japan you think you know - that lives in every bottle of crisp, refreshing Sapporo beer.
Sapporo, the beer refined by rebellion.
