Underberg
Underberg is a digestivo produced in Germany. It is made of aromatic herbs from 43 countries, however the exact number and identity of the herbs remain a secret. The Underberg family has closely guarded the recipe since the company was founded in 1846.
The herbs are distilled using a secret process ‘Semper Idem’ meaning ‘always the same’. The extracts are then matured for many months in barrels made of Slovenian oak. The wrapping of the bottle in straw-coloured paper keeps the neck hygienically clean and protects the liquid against light.
