Sophie Parker-Thomson from Blank Canvas has been named New Zealand’s latest Master of Wine (MW) and has been accepted as a member of the Institute of Masters of Wine (IMW).

With only ten people announced in this latest round, and only 418 MWs currently on the planet, Sophie joins an exceptionally exclusive group. So many have strived to achieve their MW over the years, with only 493 having achieved this incredibly testing and demanding qualification since it was first established way back in 1953.

Sophie joins 14 other Kiwis to now give New Zealand 15 MWs.
