Created by The Prisoner Wine Company, SALDO is the Italina word for “to join” or “weld”. It exists to expand your palate and your mind, leading you to unexpected places in wine. It’s a winemaking effort that’s effortless in your glass.
When Dave Phinney was looking to source additional Zinfandel for Prisoner Red Blend, he came across such incredible Zinfandel grapes that he was inspired to make a standalone wine and thus – SALDO was born. Meticulous in his craft, SALDO showcased his approach by joining and blending grapes from many vineyards to make the perfect Zinfandel, an approach the winemaking team continues to this day.
